Today’s choice is Sarah Katz’s “Apex Five” (https://t.co/9GCax0e9T1). Apex Five is an exciting fictional work, and so if we’re going to get through all incredible works in all the realms of speculative fiction, we are not going to pass including this one on our lists. Hidden in those pages, we find a tale that is truly effortless in its literary virtues. If you like a good book, you ought to appreciate how readers took it. In the words of a reader, “Ms. Katz did quite an impressive job of world building in Apex Five. The Plane, where the story takes place, is both striking and ominous. The details were vivid and allowed me to imagine what it must be like for the characters to experience their surroundings. The story draws from an ancient era and beliefs but ties in with contemporary times. I found parallels in the book that touched on my own life, politics, the environment, and other social issues. I feel other readers will agree.” Having checked out our review, you might as well go that tiny step further and get your own copy. If not, stay tuned until we discover the next Asimov or Clarke.
