Today’s choice of sci-fi is Leonard Rich’s “Xenophobe Resurrection” (https://t.co/ItfSx6oitK). Resurrection is the best choice we can think of at the moment, an intriguing work of fiction, and so if we’re going to get through all outstanding items in all the realms of speculative fiction, we are aware this one deserves its place as #1 today. With this one, we found a contribution we must admit to be naturally legendary in narrative. If you like a good book, you should start searching how readers reacted. We took note of the words from one reader, “You’ll have a new favorite author once you’ve finished XENOPHOBE RESURRECTION.” If you made it through this sincere tribute, you might as well go that tiny step further and get a copy of the book yourself. Otherwise, keep following until we discover the next epic science fiction author of the generation. Like you, we expect it will happen soon.

Today, our choice of outstanding sci-fi is Sarah Katz’s “Apex Five” (https://t.co/9GCax0e9T1). Apex Five is a defiant work of art, an amazing sci-fi title, and so when it comes to the best franchises in all the domains of the fantastic, we’re aware this one deserves its place on our lists. Under that cover, we discovered a contribution we conclude is compellingly ingenious in delivery. Supposing you are as versed in this sort of thing as us, you need to appreciate how readers took it. According to a reader, “Ms. Katz did quite an impressive job of world building in Apex Five. The Plane, where the story takes place, is both striking and ominous. The details were vivid and allowed me to imagine what it must be like for the characters to experience their surroundings. The story draws from an ancient era and beliefs but ties in with contemporary times. I found parallels in the book that touched on my own life, politics, the environment, and other social issues. I feel other readers will agree.” If you are persuaded, you should continue that tiny step further and get your own copy. If you’re not quite won over yet, continue watching this space until we discover the next epic science fiction author of the generation. We know it’ll be well worth the wait.

Today’s choice of sci-fi is Gary Henson’s “Arlo and Jake Enlist” (https://t.co/n18qNiAb6k). Arlo and Jake Enlist is an independently minded exciting title, so if we’re going to get through all the best items in all the universes of the fantastic, we are not going to pass including this one on top of our list for today. Here we found a story you’ll find undeniably ingenious in its style. If you like a good book, you need to have a quick look at how fans react. In the words of an obviously enthused reader, “Categorizing this story is difficult because it is different…imaginatively different. That is to say Gary Henson’s creativity shows in every sentence. Yes, there are sections reminiscent of good old fashioned science fiction, but there are characters like you’ve never encountered before. Henson’s style is edgy, but the tale rolls along at an enjoyable pace. Henson’s grasp on his characters quirks is consistent, but not predictable. Most of all, the story is funny…laugh out loud funny. I’d say Gary has found a new niche in the world of literary entertainment and he’s filling the hell out of it! An escape from the humdrum you must read!” If you made it through this sincere tribute, you should continue that tiny step further and search for a copy of the book yourself. According to an obviously enthused reader, “One of the things I always found a little uncomfortable about Malazan: Book of the Fallen series was the abundance of gods. I prefer stories in which human foibles and strengths drive the plot. That pretty much sums up the A Song of Fire and Ice series. The Forgotten Gods Tale, of which Dreams of Winter is the first volume, sits somewhere between those two. Yes there are gods, and yes they are powerful, and yes they do make a mess, but the real focus is on the humans and how they deal with the mess.” If you made it through this sincere tribute, you should go the distance and get your own copy. On this day our choice of sci-fi is S. A. Asthana’s “The Final Wars Begin” (https://t.co/ldasEYCrSE). Final Wars is an independently minded and independently authored exhilarating sci-fi title, and so when it comes to amazing franchises in all the niches of speculative fiction, we are not regretting including this one on top of our list for today. Here we discover a plot that is absolutely unique in its emotional content. If you like a good book, your attention is needed. Please, at least start searching how fans react. According to an obviously enthused reader, “This is definitely thrilling science fiction. SA Asthana has written a crazy entertaining book. It centers around Bastien Lyons, a Parisian orphan in the 23rd century who unwittingly triggers a war between post world war three colonies (New Paris on Earth, Nippon One on the moon, and Port Sydney out on Mars) while outrunning the law. Bounty hunters chase him, as does a 7-foot tall robotic menace named Cube. The book really grabs you from page 1 and doesn’t let go. Bastien’s conflicts with his surroundings and himself are a treat to read. So is the supporting cast - Marie is for sure my favorite character. I’m giving this one five stars, and looking forward to the rest of this series, hopefully it’s coming soon!” Having checked out our review, you should go one small step further and get your own copy. If not, stay tuned until we discover the next Asimov or Clarke. We are waiting. And we know it will happen soon.

We took note of the words from a reader, “Once I got into the book and I had a firm grasp of the characters/what cultures they came from, the pages sped by. Katz does an excellent job describing her world, giving it both a futuristic and slightly primitive feel. She juxtaposes religion and science, civilization and barbarism, along with the idea of who knows what the "greater good” is. I recommend this book if you’re a fan of sci-fi that has a unique take on the genre.“ If you read our earnest recommendation, you might as well continue one small step further and search for your own copy.
