On this day our choice of outstanding sci-fi is J. D. Sanderson’s “A Footstep Echo” (https://t.co/f5Smk9BiyX). Echo is an exhilarating fictional work, and in our never-ending tributes to amazing titles in all the universes of speculative fiction, we’re not regretting including this one on top of our list for today. For certain, we find storytelling that is compellingly effortless in its literary virtues. If your taste in books is as good as ours, you should start searching how sci-fi readers react. In the words of a reader, “This was an amazing adventure through time. It is full of mystery, and has you second guessing what you think you know. The characters were well written and likable. I just could not figure out how this was gonna play out and that was refreshing. I love the ending and can’t wait to check out the next one!” So now we’re finished, you should go one small step further and get your own copy. If not, subscribe for email updates until we discover the next best thing since The Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. We all are waiting. And we know it’ll be well worth the wait.

Today, our choice of outstanding sci-fi is NL Rinku’s “Earthers” (https://t.co/kYL40emdCF). Earthers is the best choice we can think of at the moment, an amazing work, so if we’re going to pay tribute to amazing titles in all the domains of the fantastic, we’re sure this one belongs on our lists. In this case, we discovered a yarn that is surely entertaining in its gifts. If you like a good book, you’ve got to start searching how fans took it. According to one reader, “Interesting concept with lots of action. Man against machine, seems like an unbalanced concept determining mankind’s extinction. RL leads us on a great journey to battle the overwhelming forces of good vs evil. I was astonished at the depth of imagination and dramatic effect depicted in this novel.” So now we’re finished, you might as well continue that tiny step further and get a copy of the book yourself. If not, subscribe for email updates until we discover the next best thing since The Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. Yes, we are waiting. And we know it’ll be well worth the wait.

Today, our choice is Endless Ink’s “Earth’s Final Chapter” (https://t.co/YPmEdgOtqp). Final Chapter is an independently minded and independently authored exhilarating title, so when it comes to norm-shattering franchises in all the domains of the fantastic, we’re not regretting including this one on our lists. Assuredly, we discover storytelling that is convincingly effortless in its ability to create excitement. If you have time for anything today, you should have a quick look at how readers react. According to one reader, “From the first sentence we detect the perfumed notes of Poe that hang heavy in the air, attempting to disguise the rot. It is as if we, the reader, have opened a door we should not. Suddenly we find ourselves in the middle of fantastical intrigue, and history, and old grudges that have been allowed to fester.” Having checked out our review, you ought to go one small step further and search for your own copy. If not, stay tuned until we discover the next best thing since The Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. We know that it will happen soon.

Book of the Day, Fri, 25 Sep 2020 06:51:36

On this day our choice is Dr. Darin C Brown’s “The Sound of Suffering” (https://hyperurl.co/Soundofsuffering). Suffering is a rogue tale, an exciting science fiction work, and in our never-ending tributes to outstanding works in all the realms of sci-fi, we are not regretting including this one on our lists. In this case, we reveal a yarn that is truly entertaining in its ability to create excitement. If we assume you share our enthusiasm for a good book, you’ve got to start searching how sci-fi readers took it. We took note of the words from one reader, “The Sound of Suffering, Book 2 in Darin Brown’s The Master of Perception series, easily captures even the adult reader, although the more likely audience would be young adults (or, remembering the aficionados in The Big Bang Theory, perhaps anyone fascinated by the sci-fi/fantasy world). We know from the beginning of the book that Hunter has super-powers that he is learning to use, and we also know that he has experienced disabilities, presented as autism, that he has not fully overcome. His name, in light of the way he uses his developing powers, suggests that he has the potential to become a super-hero (like Lee Child’s Reacher?).” Having checked out our review, you ought to continue the whole way and get your own copy. If not, subscribe for email updates until we discover the next best thing since The Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. Yes, we expect it’ll happen eventually.

According to one reader, “Ms. Katz did quite an impressive job of world building in Apex Five. The Plane, where the story takes place, is both striking and ominous. The details were vivid and allowed me to imagine what it must be like for the characters to experience their surroundings. The story draws from an ancient era and beliefs but ties in with contemporary times. I found parallels in the book that touched on my own life, politics, the environment, and other social issues. According to a reader, “J. D. Sanderson has come on the literary scene with an absolute home-run of a story. I love mystery and action fiction, and always seem to get into the rut of reading the same authors that I like over and over. Sanderson is a very welcome, refreshing new talent who has created a wonderfully woven tale that’s a totally engaging, fast-paced roller coaster of a ride…from the very first chapter to the close of the back cover when you’re finished. Sanderson does an excellent job of character development, and provides the whole range of personalities from the elderly Bernard Abbey who invokes empathy from the moment he is introduced, to the contemptable, well, you’ll have to decide which characters fit into that bucket because there are surprises around every corner! And, not unlike the Star Trek series which I have loved for 50+ years, A Footstep Echo provides some very interesting food for thought about the human race and the possibilities for our impact on the future, both hopeful and frightening.” Well, now we’re done you might as well continue one small step further and get a copy of the book yourself. The book is a well-written story of a boy diagnosed with an extreme form of autism who see demons all around him and has hard time understanding why no one else does. The story started to reveal childhood trauma, it opened my eyes to the power of self will. I began to see the character as a super-hero, as you watch Hunter come into the world and discovers he has powers others don’t have. This is an excellent book for the pre-teen, teen population as well as adults. And you knew they were doing it, but you had no voice to fight back and were growing weaker and weaker. Wouldn’t that, you know, upset you a tiny bit? Well, Gaia is more than upset a tiny bit. Whew doggie. Just you wait until you see what happens. And poor Terran is stuck in the middle. I couldn’t help but compare Terran to Dexter’s sister Deb in the show Dexter. There are parallels to their individual situations and if you’ve seen the show and then read this book, I think you might agree with me. I will say no more. This is an intriguing read if you’re pizzed about what’s happening to our planet and want to see what Gaia would do if she were a real entity. A great YA Fantasy with roots grounded in the real world. I recommend.” If you read this post, you should continue one small step further and search for your own copy. Book of the Day, Fri, 04 Sep 2020 06:41:17

Today, our choice of sci-fi is Harry Bentham’s “Shadow Region” (https://t.co/xKDyNaWg9L). Shadow Region is a truly exciting sci-fi title, and so in honor of all outstanding worlds in all the realms of the fantastic, we’re not regretting including this one on our lists. With a brief read, we find a plot that is strikingly unique in its presentation and style. If we assume you share our enthusiasm for a good book, your attention is needed. Please, at least have a quick look at how fans react. We took note of the words from an obviously enthused reader, “This is part of a series of short stories about the Captain and crew of the Starship Traction. Since it is very brief, the plot and character development are limited, but it gives the feel of a Star Trek type world build. The quick read allows enough time for some interesting twists. The writing is smooth and the enjoyable, a brief break from the reality of a busy life!” So now we’re finished, you should continue one small step further and get your own copy. If not, subscribe for email updates until we discover the next Asimov or Clarke. We expect we’re getting close!
