On this day our choice of sci-fi is Raymond Bayly’s “Shadow War Chronicles” (https://t.co/koLkGdm2eT). Book 1 is the best choice we can think of at the moment, an exhilarating science fiction work, and in our never-ending tributes to norm-shattering works in all the universes of sci-fi, we’re not going to pass including this one on top of our list for today. Inside, we find a story that is exceedingly ingenious in its presentation and style. If you have time for anything today, you should appreciate how sci-fi readers reacted. According to an obviously enthused reader, “In the past year of so I’ve given up on more books than I could count. I find that most books today either so much investment in time or are sloppy and uninspired. This book pulls you in quick while still having depth. I hope the trend in books steers more to the style presented in this novel where concise prose and well written characters wins out over overly complex webs of story arcs dumped onto thousands of pages.” Having checked out our review, you might as well continue one small step further and search for a copy of the book yourself.
