Book of the Day, Thu, 17 Sep 2020 06:53:10

On this day our choice is Christian Warren Freed’s “Dreams of Winter” (https://t.co/BaP8JXqcEI). Dreams of Winter is the best choice we can think of at the moment, an intriguing science fiction work, so when it comes to outstanding titles in all the galaxies of science fiction, we are sure this one belongs on top of our list for today. Going beyond the front cover, we found a story that is truly unique in its themes. Supposing you are as versed in this sort of thing as us, you need to appreciate how readers react. We took note of the words from a reader, “One of the things I always found a little uncomfortable about Malazan: Book of the Fallen series was the abundance of gods. I prefer stories in which human foibles and strengths drive the plot. That pretty much sums up the A Song of Fire and Ice series. The Forgotten Gods Tale, of which Dreams of Winter is the first volume, sits somewhere between those two. Yes there are gods, and yes they are powerful, and yes they do make a mess, but the real focus is on the humans and how they deal with the mess.” Well, now we’re done you might as well continue the whole way and get your own copy. If not, stay tuned until we discover the next epic science fiction author of the generation. Yes, we can only hope it’ll be well worth the wait.
