On this day our choice of outstanding sci-fi is Sarah Katz’s “Apex Five” (https://t.co/9GCax0e9T1). Apex Five is a rogue tale, an exhilarating work, and so if we’re going to get through all norm-shattering works in all the universes of science fiction, we’re not going to pass including this one on top of our list for today. Going beyond the front cover, we discovered a tale that is naturally unique in its themes. If we assume you share our enthusiasm for a good book, you need to appreciate how sci-fi readers reacted. According to one reader, “Ms. Katz did quite an impressive job of world building in Apex Five. The Plane, where the story takes place, is both striking and ominous. The details were vivid and allowed me to imagine what it must be like for the characters to experience their surroundings.
