Today, our choice is Sarah Katz’s “Apex Five” (https://t.co/9GCax0e9T1). Apex Five is a truly intriguing fictional work, and so in our never-ending tributes to outstanding titles in all the realms of sci-fi, we’re convinced this title earned its place on top of our list for today. With a brief read, we discovered a tale we can say is strikingly unique in its approach. Supposing you are as versed in this sort of thing as us, you should have a quick look at how sci-fi readers react. We took note of the words from one reader, “Once I got into the book and I had a firm grasp of the characters/what cultures they came from, the pages sped by. Katz does an excellent job describing her world, giving it both a futuristic and slightly primitive feel. She juxtaposes religion and science, civilization and barbarism, along with the idea of who knows what the "greater good” is.
